Really sore after yet another fall (I hate this ice). Having a difficult time concentrating, so I made something simple and fun. Yeah, I know it's similar to something else I did before, but I liked it.

Looks very good. If they all had the same colour it would remind me of elevator buttons. Only thing I noticed was that "MathMap" seems to have ended up slightly too far down on its button.

Love it PM, it looks like the same metal you used when you did the Xmas ornament tute.. Excellent, did you use the from Nadie Zenith in Mathmap to do the metal? Even the little screws look so real.....

Hmmm? Maybe the Mathmap button text is low. I'll check that out.

The screws are actually a brush I got years ago. I did not know of a Nadir Zenith in G'MIC. I'll look for that!

Edit: I fixed the Mathmap button text position.

PhotoMaster, I like this very much. You say simple , but it is very effective and quite difficult for a beginner.
This would make an excellent tutorial showing the different techniques involved.
I can see brushed metal, buttons, text, drop shadows, gradients and textured background.

I realise there are tuts on all those things separately but this would be an excellent opportunity to tie them together.
If you have the time of course!

Those are really cool looking Greg. =)
Reminds me of one of those old magnetized steel sheet lifter switches.
Or overhead crane switch inside a factory.

Metal is gorgeous, but what are the ellipses on the buttons supposed to be? reflections?

The buttons are from a script. I added the text to the buttons manually. The metal was easy, and I could certainly do up a simple tutorial.

So sorry about your fall even if we benefited by it with a great image. Hope your bruises are fading and the soreness is gone. Ice SUCKS!

Anyway, I love your image and I'm looking forward to your tutorial.
