I would also advise getting desk pins program too.

That's the first version I had of GIMP. I used gimpshop the first time but it is now defunct as it kept on crashing and the creator never fixed it or updated it.

About the only thing i miss in this version is the docking abilities.

Had a go at it. I skipped map object because I had only 1 letter and it squashed my O like it was a bug.

Since I already had my font, color & size set up, I gave it a try. I used 12 for the depth.

Looks good. I didn't do a reflection or shadow for it. Much quicker this way.

I like Fencepost's results on his tutorial, too. I wish that was made into a script as well.

I played with the script and some dingbats. I bumpmapped one layer like in fencepost's tutorial, then ran the script on a different layer and used the bumpmapped layer on top so these are a combo of both ways.

Being a Sci-Fi junkie, I appreciate the Starship Enterprise and when I see the dolphin, I think of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy! Both are A+ in my book!

This next one is what I think of GimpChat!

SWEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!! You must have had fun coloring all those layers. I love it.

I looked at my dolphin and decided it needed a reflection.

I duplicated the text layer 4 times and changed the color of each. Then I ran the script on each text layer and merged the results. Then I just lined them up. Quick, easy and fun.

That dolphin would make someone a nice logo O.
You can get some nice results with the script, or fenceposts tutorial.
Those are all nice results everyone.I would like to see more added to the script like inner glow and reflection,and shadow. Quite a bit to ask though.
