Ok, so nothing fancy; I was testing out the recordmydesktop linux screen capture program and also the kdenlive video editing software. An eye is a convenient thing to draw within the YouTube 15 minute limit ... so don't consider this an "How to draw an eye in 15 minutes" tutorial unless you really, really want to.
This is MyPaint, from scratch. Maybe fun to watch if you want to see how I go about things.

I was quite happy with the behaviour of both programs, I lost a previous 3-hour video of painting "By the Riverbank" (due to mistakes of my own), so I thought it'd be best to sit down and actually learn how to use things. Never edited videos before, so learned a lot.

Awesome screen recorder -but why can't they compile this for windows?
Is this the one that shows your keyboard and mouse clicks too? (from HeathenX-tutorials for Inkscape)

Do you always listen to music when you draw? I do most of the time.

It seems to be a nice program but I would think Windows should have even more screencasting software than Linux does though? And no there is no showing of keys in this one. The Inkscape screencasts are actually using a separate program called key-mon to display the clicks on-screen, it's not part of the recorder.


Hehe, I actually recorded this silently to make sure to save CPU cycles, then added the music in kdenlive afterwards. But yes, I do often listen to music when drawing.

A tablet is relatively cheap these days, you might also want to look for used ones, plenty of people seem to buy one and then not use it.
