Gift for the Huldra

The Huldra took on many forms in Scandinavian mythology, but one of them was that of a forest creature. Whereas she is often a fiend that tricks and lures people astray, there are also tales of the Huldra being friendly if you only show her respect. Humans that worked in the forest might also leave her gifts at Christmas for good luck. Disrespect the Huldra at your peril, for she can twist your sight and make it so you never find your way out of her forest.


This is my 2018 Christmas card. Took about 14 hours or so to do, and made use of five different programs:
- MagicPoser (Android 3D posing program)
- InfiniPainter (Android sketching program for rendering initial sketch from 3D models)
- MyPaint (For doing the main painting)
- GIMP (For cloning textures)
- Krita (For final adjustment painting, color adjustments etc)

You've really mastered Chiroscuro, Griatch. Fantastic result.

The girl is skinny but mostly she wears very tight boots, while the guy's left boot appears a lot wider at the top than the right one.

Otherwise good play with the lights...

Is "Huldra" an euphemism for "akvavit"?

I also use a pose program on android, but I use Easy Poser. I used the MagicPoser when I had an Iphone but it didn't had much options back then.
