I wonder if 'Remove Hot Pixels' (GMIC) would improve the little dots of light? That could be a feature. It's a nice style.

I love it when people go wild or goofy, breaking their normal habits.
Hot pixels should be easy to prevent by using different blending mode?
But fixing it could lessen the madness level?
