david-c: so good to see this project finished, i was looking forward to that. i really like your take on mona lisa, especially the face and the background are so beautifully made. to be critical, i could say i'd like her hair better if those strands on her right side were softened a bit - they give her the impression of being pasted onto the background.
very well done, overall, and a great round of applause from göteborg!

Thanks, it's still open to some finishing touches and fixes, courtesy of the feedback. I agree with the hair. I worked mostly on one layer - I usually work with at least 3, but somehow feel more comfortable with less for portraits. I probably used too much of a hard of a brush for some parts of the hair. The focal point was the face, which as you can tell went through a lot of remodelling, and thus my main area of work. I actually need to cringe at the first attempts now, looking back on them. I may refine the other areas as well, I didn't spend a lot of time on the background, that was more of a speedpaint job. I think the eye lids are still a bit off.
Another thing bothering me is the lack of detail in the dress area, but that was as according to the reference. I may have to brighten the reference up a bit.
Thanks for the feedback, all.
