Thank you also for your kind word s- much appreciated. You ask how did I get the faceted look - well for a long time I have ignored the 'flat bevel' option in BRL when I do glass; but now I am exploring how to use it and the above is one example.

Pat - well thank you; workflow had some 'serendipty' components, but I will look at the xcf file and provide you some, hopefully helpful, information.

In the meantime, here is another glass effort using airbrush bump mapping techniques that I learned from Photmaster's tyre tutorial, which provided me with a glass tube effect.
