I sort of have a tutorial of how I did this on my blog here (just using a different orientation of the letters):

http://www.mahvin.com/?p=1159

Video here:

http://www.mahvin.com/?p=2221

To bypass my blog and go straight to YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSqfDYvaHFM

I actually had several people request their name in fire, as you see on the blog, to use for their iphone wallpaper.

I'd have to re-read the tutorial to see what I did differently for this. I know I had to link two text paths when using the perspective tool to create a top and bottom set for reflection purposes. I also used Colors - Curves to smooth out the jaggedness of the block lettering.

If I get a lot of requests I'll consider making a new tutorial just for this. There is only a limit of how large you can make your brush (512 x 512) using the copy/paste method, so that is definitely something you need to consider. Otherwise you will need to create a large animated brush.

Dislaimer: The author of this post may appear more militant and hostile than he really is. Hehehe. I really don't like IE (long story).

I can only think you "might" be using IE, the most incompatible (and with very serious security risks) browser ever in the entire world, which will hopefully one day die a very violent death and get a proper burial like it's former version.

If not, I have no idea, I came up clean on the code checks via W3, plus I am using a Wordpress install, not a custom coded blog.

You're the first person to tell me this, so I can only suggest trying a different browser than what you are using (but I would never recommend "any version" of IE).

I added the text version, but it lacked images and links, so it was not a very friendly way to post it.

This is fun. I didn't make a brush, I just copied my text to the clipboard. Then, instead of the airbrush I used a regular paint brush.

:) Copy and paste works up to 512 x 512px. That's the way I do it, unless I need big text.

I did this using a path and stroked the path with the paint brush.

MY EYES, MY EYES! :) I play with those all the time. I wish the flow of sharp letters wouldn't end up with corner stagger. I've tried all kinds of different ways to counter it, but haven't found the method yet. Outside of boxing it in with paths, of course.

I stacked about 5 clicks of the brush (text brush), on top of each other.
Then i created 1 layer with one text click - darker color
I copied both layers and filled those with a pattern (my asphalt one).
then i set those asphalt layers to overlay mode.
Looks kind of bricky. :coolthup

I copied the normal one click text layer and filled it with black and set it under all the other layers for a nice shadow effect.(set the opacity to 75%).

I think a red color mixed with orange would have looked real good.

The problem I've been having is that there is always a gap between layers, even setting the brush spacing to 1.0 (minimum). I end up duplicating the layer and moving it 1 pixel vertical and 1 pixel horizontal. I have to do this several times to fill the gaps.

Try cropping the text you use for the brush so that there's no space around it.

Combination of everything we've been exposed to of late... :)

Brick walls, paths, animated brushes.
