Oscar (at DAP) shared a cool site for free images so could resist a bit of play with this magnificent beast. Had to go back to GIMP 2.8x since I tire of all the missing plugins/script-fus that I cannot get to work in 2.10x. Hopefully all of this mess gets resolved soon. I remember the headaches going form 2.6x to 2.8x back in the day and most (well all) of those issue eventually got resolved. Hoping the same happens with 2.10x.

Didn't take much (anisotrophic smoothing and a few other ingredients) to convert the previous result into more of a brush stroked one.
