I never cared for the "cartoon fox" GIMP logo so I made a new splash screen for 2.10 just for fun.

@Peter,
Very nice GIMP splash.
Would the fox be difficult to have colored in Grays?

Alternatively,
if you feel so inclined.
Perhaps you can post an XCF file of this splash image?
For others to edit as they wish.

It should be easy enough to re-color the fox, If that's what you mean.

I'm happy to share the xcf file but....
...when I tried to attach the xcf file & upload it I got a message that it's too big. It's only 27mb. It only has 8 layers.
Maybe I'm doing it wrong. I don't know??? Go figure??? :hoh :hoh

We have a thread for Splash Screens for members to share if you wish. If you want, go to the site and browse to see if there is something you like. I really like the addition of your fox to that screen!

Place the file into a zip folder and try again please.
Sorry, but the default file size for uploading is 5.2 mb.

@Wallace: I tried it again and it didn't work. I got a message that the file is too big.
The zip file is 19.7mb. The message says the "maximum is 6MiB.

Well... I guess I can't post it then.

I'm sorry.

If the file is above the default upload size,
then it can't be uploaded using our system.

You can however,
post it using an outside source/link,
such as DropBox, or something similar.

Thanks Wallace. I was able to provide a link to the xcf file and I posted it with my entry at the resources category. All is well.

I changed the fox to make it look gray.

@Wallace: I like it. Something to be said for having the fox the same color as the original cartoon icon. Looks good.

I'm glad you like it.
Here's a screenshot of my desktop,
while Gimp is launching.

Made another slight adjustment.
The eyes now match my blue desktop theme.

@Wallace & RMDesigns: You guys are doing great. I love the variety I'm seeing and I'm glad you're all having fun with it. The variety in the eye color is really neat.
I'm impressed by the wallpaper on your computer Wallace. The blue eyes is perfect for your color scheme.
The addition of Wilber that RMD did is interesting and unexpected and cool at the same time.
As long as we're having fun.... that's what it's all about.

@Peter,
Here's a link to a GIMP Splash I created a while ago,
which you might find interesting.

Thanks Peter.
Your splash image, which I like so much.
Has given my a bit of inspiration.
Plus,
I'm always on the lookout for images,
to change up the GIMP Splash screen with.

@Wallace:
I really like the gray wolf with blue eyes and blue mushrooms.
Would it be possible to get the xcf file to that one?
