there i used the kaleidoscope .
But i didn't find a good alternative to the PS "kaleidoscope plugin" from Medhi

I did ask to the MM and gmic developers for a kaleidoscopr filter, and now there are in both Kaleidoscope filters, but there is no match.

Use that PS filter with Gimp is a mess because gimp screw up the preview...but could be used well even in Linux from Irfanview
(i know you fear that install Wine could open a door to malicious windows virus. i really believe that risk negligible also because that virus or whatever would have no place to hide ...and anyway even irfanview has no macht, linux offer very good viewer but
irfanview is more then a viewer)

Anyway i hope that David (GMIC)will consider a improvement to its Kaleidoscope filter

I'm going to have to do some serious playing there. I think we GIMP users like to play.
