Hello gimpchat community

we've just started our first gimpusers.com user contest!

The topic on this contest is to create your own GIMP splash screens. We've established an automatic contest system, where users can ulpoad up to 3 contest images in the submissions period (Jan. 11th – Feb. 2nd). After that everyone will be able to see your work and vote/comment on it. This voting determines the best splash screens.

both are great screens! I hope that after the contest is over, those who participated will think about making tutorials on how they did their screens! I think this kind of tutorial would be far more interesting to some of us than signature tutorials!

The uploaded submissions require an uploaded workspace file too (XCF).
So all files are down-loadable 2-ton. =)

So far i am the only submission looks like.

Finally got mine submitted. I have some more time to improve it, so I will probably work on it a little more to give it more definition.

Rod: I see you've been playing in the sandbox again. Very nice. Those colored pencils add just the right touch of color.

mahvin: Sir Wilber Quixote on his trusty steed, Rocinante. Rocinante's expression made me laugh out loud. I love the knight in shining armor. Suppose he's going out to joust?

What would be cool is a compiled version of Gimp-2.8 for Windows.
