Sometimes the response time from GC is awful (over 120 seconds to load a page...) . No such problems with other sites at the same time so I cannot suspect my connection. Firebug shows that the page starts loading in 220ms so it's really the page transfer that takes time.

Yes, sometimes but not always. Today it is working just fine, my page loads right away. Yesterday it didn't. It took a half a minute or so to load each time. So, on my end it is intermittent.

Since the move to the new server I've only had a couple of load issues, none recently.

Mostly okay for me, just the rare occasion when the page seems to take an age to load, nothing recently though.

I've kept a close eye on server loading since the move and there hasn't been many issues with that. There were a couple of DOS attacks aimed at the data center but those were quickly resolved.

There were also a couple of instances where the site was swarmed by bots. occasionally, I see a wave of spamming/hacking attempts from Chinese & Russian IP addresses, which I then block.

If you can be more specific about a certain time and day when you've experienced slow response times, let me know those times and I can investigate further. Please provide time/date and ping results.

Backups can also put somewhat of a strain on the server and the network. Those are performed by the host at varying time intervals.

Just FYI, I still have a couple of accounts on the old host and they were completely down most of the weekend. They said it was due to power outages.

I do not have issues with GC loading...except on some boards that have large images on them. But that is most likely due to my dsl. It is not very fast.

thats probably what my problems are, is the occasional backups (at times I'll be refreshing here quiet often hoping to ninja Rod )

My tests have shown that with a thread that is heavily loaded with local images, this site performs better than ~80% of websites when accessed from within the USA and better than ~55% of websites when accessed from Europe.

It takes me ~3 seconds to download a thread that is heavily loaded with images. I have 30mbps download speed. My tests from Europe benchmarks out at 5-7 seconds to download the same page.

If anyone notices the site slowing down, they can use this site to test and post back the results here.

ah I'm not downloading any threads though...it's just at the homepage, hitting the board index button. don't worry too much about it, if it's just me
