I don't know what is going on with my gimpchat, it is either my computer OR problems with the site.
Every time I log in, it doesn't stay logged in when I go out of GC. I do have the box checked to keep me logged in.
Anyone else having this problem?

Thanks in advance.

There have been a lot of people experiencing this.

As for myself,
I have not had this issue.
It could also have something to do with the server,
but I can't say for sure if this is the cause.

This could also be a web browser issue and this is also a guess,
as to what might be causing this issue.

Have you checked if there are any updated for the web browser you're currently using?

AFAIK you need to make sure that your browser keeps the cookies for GC permanently so that they survive a browser restart.

Still worth checking what your browser does with the GC cookies.

The important part in the "Keep until" setting just below these two.

@ofnuts, should I check keep until they expire, or keep until I close, those are the only two choices.

@molly,

If you are using Firefox, it is something they have changed with an update.
When you click in the username box, the message pops up.
At the bottom of the box I assume it says molly (mine says david), if you click on the name it should enter the username and login.

I tried to add a screenshot, but....

david.

I will try that David Thanks

I did that David and it worked, it is just an extra step, thats all. I wish they would leave things alone. It was fine before they messed with it... :hoh :gaah

Happens to me often enough too, Molly. Not sure what's causing this, but my browser just re-logs me in after I click log-in. Still, it's pretty irritating. :)

The best thing to do is to select "Keep until you close Firefox" (this applies to all cookies), and then use the "Exceptions..." button to keep permanently ("Allow" status) those of a few select sites (the few sites you trust, such as GimpChat).

To disable the Firefox logon warning message see: http://www.trishtech.com/2017/03/disabl ... n-firefox/

I have changed mine back to its original mode - I wish they wouldn't make these "improvements"!!!

david.

A wise person once said
"with progress comes chaos" =)

For instance.
Any time you update GIMP or G'MIC it seems filters get broken. Seems to be the case with most anything.

Check this out and see if it helps.

Come to Gimp Chat and try this.

(See image "Untitled_1.png" below).

Right-click in the same place I did in the image below.
(The little red star, is where I right-clicked)

The dialog should open.
Select "View Page Info".

Image

The next dialog should then open (see image "Untitled_2.png" below).

Where you can check Gimp Chat's permissions.
They should look like what I have checked.

This is how it's done in FF.
Let me know if this works for you.
