Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a hand held viewer. I like doing tutorials. I always print them. I would like to be able to copy them to my USB stick and put it in some kind of viewer with a screen that I could scroll and do the tutorials that way.
I think it would be soooooooo handy. I don't want something that is going to cost an arm and a leg, just something simple....

Thanks in advance, Molly

What you need for that is a "beamer".
They come in lot of different prices and max screen sizes.
They're not cheap.
Where I live you can rent them.
Gerard.

Short of a Nook, or Kindle, I'm not aware of any cheap viewers Molly. I know that there is now a color version of the Nook, but not sure about it's quality. The cost of the iPad takes it out of the offering of course. :)

thanks Lyle. I would like to be able to bring up the tutorial and watch it on something that has a USB cable to plug into one of my usb ports.... Maybe there isn't such a thingy. I could go over to BestBuy tomorrow to see if they have anything like that.
I have so many tutorials printed that I am running out of room to store them lol.....

If you get a router then whatever you get might not need a usb cable.

This is a nifty product I was looking at - a USB monitor/touchscreen:

Alternatively, you can get an older android tablet fairly cheaply now:

Thanks RobA,
Would I be able to put the tutorials on them instead of printing them all? If so, that is probably what I am looking for...

I wonder how hard it would be to build something like that out of an old laptop. There's a thrift store around here where you can pick up old computers for $5 - $20. Throw Linux on it and you have a decent machine for light tasks. It'd probably take quite a bit of know-how to build it -well- (rugged enough for practical use).

Oh! One more thing you may want to think about. At some point it will be cheaper to upgrade to a dual-head video card and just have two monitors.
