Very beautiful. Thank you for posting this, Offnuts. Spoiler for me, though, is closed source & Windows only.

I gather (mainly from Wikipedia) that the author, Vladimir Romanyuk hopes to license it's core game engine; Space Engine is the eye candy demoware for that core. Some eye candy! Closed source or no, it is beautiful work, and if he's put the effort into the code that he has for the eye candy, then I bet it is going to be one nice game engine. I wish Mr. Romanyuk good luck.

But my heart remains with Celestia...
