For slideshows I have, ffDiaporama. It's in active development and very good.

Thanks. I checked it out and it looks powerful. It might be more than I need for simple slideshows.

I installed the the latest stable version for Fedora 20 but it crashed when I tried to add my first image. It actually made my system unstable and I had to reboot. Maybe that's why it's not in the official Fedora repositories.

Imagination is very easy to use and gets the job done so I guess I'll stick with that for now.

That unfortunate. ffDiaporama is in the Ubuntu software centre. It's been trouble free for me.

The problem I have with both DVD Sideshow & Imagination is that text is tied to the slides. I wanted the lyric text to correspond exactly with the vocals. I might have two separate lines of lyrics on one slide or the lyrics might need to span two slides. So, I ended up putting the subtitle lyric text in afterward, by editing the finished video.

Does ffDiaporama support that kind of editing? It looked like it had some video editing features built-in.
