All these years I've never suggested or even used the subtitle transcripts off the YouTube video tutorials I follow. What a time saving experience! The idea of printing out the transcript to follow along (instead of stop/back-up/replay) is genius.

Just in case any of you have never utilized this, the steps are simple:

1. You have to open/watch the video in YouTube.

2. Click on the three dots below the video, then "Open transcript":


3. When the transcript opens next to the right of the video, just highlight all the text and save to Word, or print to PDF, or whatever word processor you use.


If you knew about this already, carry on...nothing to see here.

I felt the same way the first time I tried it — I couldn’t believe I’d gone years without using the YouTube transcript feature. It makes following along so much easier, especially with technical tutorials where you don’t want to miss a single detail.

I used to spend ages pausing, rewinding, and rewatching sections just to catch one tricky sentence. Now, with the transcript open (and sometimes printed out), I can quickly skim back to the exact spot I need without breaking my flow. It’s a huge time saver, and once you get used to it, you’ll wonder how you ever managed without it.
