fluffybunny:personally i'd love to see the kookaburra, i've never seen one on movie, just pictures.

Hi AnMal,

Surely the web is full of Kookaburra video of much better quality images than mine  ...

The Kookaburra is not welcomed by many at the pond, as he is not planning to bathe, he is hunting the small frogs and lizards that live in that area. :(

Very nice fluffybunny, You must have a good lens in order to get that close.

fluffybunny: hey thanks! nice little mmovie. of course there are better movies circling the web, but it's a different thing to see a movie from another gimp chatter's own garden, makes it much more real. i like kookaburras because i was a bit obsessed by the song when i was a little kid :).

Hi molly, I am using a time lapse camera positioned quite close to the subject/location. I am not standing at the camera, so it doesn't take very long for the fauna to be come accustomed to just the camera and tripod. In fact at the end of the Kookaburra video you may notice he flys right at it. I didn't attach the rest of the video, but about 8 minutes further on I see his tail feathers suddenly appear in the top of frame.
He is using my new camera as a perch to scan for his prey.
The tail feathers continue obscuring the video for another 10 minutes until he finally departs.
