I am pretty sure I know the answer to this but just want someone to tell me yes or no.

After downloading zip files or any file for that matter (mine all go to downloads folder) and extracting files, putting the files where they are needed. Can I then delete the zip folders and other folders that had the files in them?
I am sure most of the stuff I have put in other files have been copies otherwise I would have cut and pasted but don't always do just in case.

You can delete the zips, although I usually move them to a backup folder.

Hi, Sallyanne, Yes after you have extracted the files and you are sure that they have been placed in the correct destination, you can delete the zip file from your Downloaded Folder. My downloads (zips, rars and pdfs all come to C:/user/downloads. The folder tends to grow very large so I occasionally trim it and weed out stuff that I am sure I do not need to extract again. Therein lies the problem, do you think you need to have need to extract again, or is it quicker to replace the item with an updated version. I had a heck of a time trying to locate a Gimp 2.6.11 on the internet after I deleted the install from my downloads. So I tend to retain important zips, just in case.
