graphic arts portfolio

Ello all. Ok so i just applied for a job as a paid intern for a local company seeking a graphic design employee. They are interested in seeing some of my works i have done. I had no idea i would ever apply for a job like this since i am an engineering student BUT i do have an associates in graphic arts from 6 years ago. haha

I know what a portfolio is but how to send the art to them in a pleasing manner is new to me. As in, how should it be presented to an employeer?

Blog?
Just images emailed?
or something else?

If it was me, I would make a slide show of the arts, or some kind of presentation, not just email with images. There are lots of cheap software programs that let you make nice slideshows, online slideshows on the online photo storage sites and...I would assume that you computer came with some photo software and that a slide show could be made with that.

Windows movie maker is pretty easy to use for making a video.

Ello, thanks for te replies.sorry mine is a we bit late. i just got home from comic con and it was a blast. saw some art work of some friends of mine and how they use a cintek monitor with photoshop to draw all there stuff. Told them about the gimp and they were impressed. haha.

I got to met one of the main artist for marvel and since i am an engineering major, he referenced me to some artists who designed and drew for star wars and other sci fi stuff.

A slide show seems pretty legit to show them. they do want what ever the portfolio is to be emailed. So i might upload it to a blog and give them the link.

a slide show or a movie is great. just debating between sending them the actual file or a link to a blog. haha. im not sure ig blogger allows you to upload a windows movie maker or openshot video.

blogs tend to not let you upload videos directly. But you can youtube it and embed it in your blog.

If you do a youtube portfolio, you can just email the link to the youtube, but that foliohd.com looks really cool and would make an impressive portfolio.

true. i am actually thinking this is what i am going to do. i have only a few pics anyway. lol.
