Son and friend met there hero

Hi there, my son and his friend met there hero and got a picture, BUT it has white eyes. I have tried the red eye removal tool. That did not work at all. And im very bad at fixing images. Can anyone give me some advice?

Hard to fix a picture after is has been butchered by the phone post-processing.

For the fix below:

1) sample the color on a pixel where the iris isn't white
2) Use a soft round brush ("hardness 025"), size it to cover the iris
3) adjust brush to cover the iris
4) Click a few times to fill the white until there is only a white rim left
5) Use the resulting picture only in reduced sizes (which, given the pixel soup it is, it what is going to happen anyway: )).
