As many of you may know we here in the Southern hemisphere are experiencing Summer as opposed to the NH's Winter.
This evening we had an awesome (I thought so) sky. I have six photos Here. They were all taken within 3 minutes.
You may do what you want with them. I think they are pretty good even if I am no photographer.
None of them have been post processed at all.

After a week of cold grey skies it's really nice to catch a glimpse of summer evening skies again.

I'm just wondering how Aussies celebrate Xmas in the middle of heat.
But after couple weeks of blackness, mainly due to lack of snow it's nice to see that sun still exists.
I couldn't tell if it was October or December based on weather. Need snow and cold, now!

Our Christmas traditions come originally from Europe so many still have the Hot meats (Turkey, Pork [love the crackling] etc, Roast [baked] vegetables with all the trimmings. A hot pudding and Cake. My mother would always put silver coins in the pudding. Nearly always is fruit mince pies, shortbread biscuits [cookies]. Ginger bread, Although I have had a hot meal and salad with cold meat/seafood in two separate sittings. Middle of the day and evening.
We still have the Jolly old men who dress up a suffer through the heat too but they have made the costumes a bit lighter for here.
While you will often spend Christmas Day playing in the snow or huddled around a fire, many Australians do at the beach/swimming pool or in air conditioned rooms. I'm sure any other Aussies here will correct me if I'm wrong.

I figured it would be very similar to European traditions, with a touch of something local of course.
There's quite nothing like the smell of roasted pork hovering in air at Christmas eve morning....mmmmmmm.

What's the purpose for putting silver coins in the pudding? Never heard of that before.

Putting a silver coin in the pudding is another age-old custom that is said to bring luck to the person that finds it. In the UK the coin traditionally used was a silver 'six pence'. The closest coin to that now is a five pence piece! (Or five cent in Australia for size) You have to use silver I think though or it may be poisonous. can still buy christmas pudding kits that have all the coins online - since money has changed over time that is probably the only way you can get them now unless you save them from the years before. Whomever cooked Christmas lunch/dinner, would insert the coins after the pudding was cooked/reheated and before it was served.
Coins need to be proper silver though and not just silver colour or they may poison you.

Yes, that tradition dates back to middle ages. It was either a coin or a bean.
In the 1800s Sweden the bean was replaced with almond, and that's how we do it here.
It's put in the breakfast rice pudding (which I don't like, cinnamon does not help...) by the one who cooks it to bring luck for the person who gets it.
