A lot of us have old photos around and some of the recent discussions prompted me to pull these out from the darkness of one of my family history boxes: tintypes:

Scanned @300 dpi. Although they are duplicates and have been stored in the same environment (at least as long as they have been in my house), it's obvious that they didn't fare the same.
I believe the gent in the upper right is my paternal grandfather, and the lady in the lower left is my paternal grandmother. I have noticed in other family photos - and particularly those of my ancestors - that husband and wife are rarely near each other. The other couple I believe is my grandfather's best friend and his wife. I have never seen any documentation indicating who is who in this image, but many other photos of my grandfather often show him with this friend.
I don't think these are the oldest photos I have, but they are the most unusual by their type.
