I was intrigued at first to say the least, then I saw how simple it was to do. Great find alc59!

A Threefold Map
An old brochure was lying in the house. Although technically the trails are not correctly drawn on it but I used it for this manipulation. It had crease marks on it so it made guide work more easy.

Very nice Rashid! I had such a hard time understanding the reflective shadow on mine. May try it again.

Is there a tutorial for this effect? It's a very nice effect.

Yes 2-ton, it's in spanish but here is the link to the tutorial "google translated"

Meemaw, it's perfect! You got the underlying shadow spot on. :clap

I could not get the shadow, so I made my own using selections, gradient fill and the blur tool. I am not unhappy, since this afternoon I was in the process of posting how I just couldn't do it at all.

Okay, I took a deep breath, and tried again using the perspective. It is not perfect, but I have to get some sleep. So here it is.

I like the shadow on the first map better steven8.

I totally agree, so I have refined the shadow in the 2nd image to the point where I feel both are acceptable. What do you think?

trandoductin, not only is your result vibrant but it looks like the critter is popping out of the brochure! Well done.

steven8, all three are great but that first one is perfect. I couldn't get the shadow to look like the tutorial - you and Meemaw were able to achieve it! Beautiful.

I haven't had time to try this yet, so I'll be late for the party. All of you have outcomes that are so nice! Even the shadows! I have trouble with them sometimes.

Never too late, Pat625! Just get to Gimp and have at it!
