Unfortunately not. I thought it would, since it's open source and you can compile the sources for yourself, but it is written in .NET so only compiles on Win.

There are other screenshot tools for Linux like shutter (shutter-project.org), but I don't know whether you are able to add arrows and other annotations like in GreenShot.

PS: A nice feature in GreenShot is the "obfuscation" feature, where you can blur out "sensitive" parts of your image which information should not be shown.

GreenShot is good but Windows only.
In Linux I use KSnapshot and sometimes Shutter.

Thanks Odin, I use Take Snapshot in Linux, but that is all it says.
Anyway, it works great.

I did some more snapshots with the one called screenshot under File/Create/Screenshot. It worked great but the problem I have is they all go to a new file, instead of where I want them to go. I would like to make a folder and have them go there but it doesn't have that option.

I know this an old thread. Another alternative that I use is to first print screen and then in Gimp select edit / paste as and select new layer or new image.
