I was lucky...I lurked on gimptalk for a while before I tried out gimp. I had read an explanation about layers...to think of them as transparent panes of glass that you can put graphics on, sort of the way cartoon cells work. Well, I had seen a show once on how they did early animations with the celluloids so it clicked right away. And then transparency idea was an easy concept...clear as glass, lol.

I liked the video Jolie. :) I have used the alpha channel a lot doing different projects and understand the basics of it. But I still learned a few new things too. Thanks!! :)

When I first started working with layers it reminded me of a documentary of how cartoons were made too!
