So I am working on a gif with a transparent background and i remove the alpha channel to the background of an image and add text, merge the text with the layer and when i preview the animation the colored background with the text appears for all layers of the gif. Now I repeat the same steps as before but now it only appears on the background layer and the other layers just show the alpha channel without the colored background and text. how can i make the colored background and text appear on all layers of the gif? please and thank you

In the general case, if you want anything to appear on all layers, even if it doesn't move, you have to merge a copy of it in all layers. There are scripts to do this. This can be avoided in some images, but I cannot tell if this applies to yours without seeing it.

I did this process yesterday. You need to 'see thru' your top layers to the background layer. The easiest way is to 'select by color' and 'clear'
which you can do because you have an alpha channel on your layers.

This depends on the kind of image of course. If you have complex backgrounds you may need to select by color and clear multiple times.
Then you can do Filters > Animation > Combine Background or Overlay Background but you need saulgoode's SG Combine/Overlay script from here:
