In previous versions of G'MIC, if the output option was set to "create new layer", the new layer was named with the command line of the filter settings that was passed to the G'MIC interpreter. I always loved that feature because I could always look at a layer name and have an idea of what my settings were that gave me a specific result, even if my interpretation of the command line wasn't exact. Is there any way to turn that functionality back on in the current version of G'MIC? In the future might there be a possibility of a switch in G'MIC to enable that ability to be turned on for the users who might want it? G'MIC is amazingly powerful and as such has many possible combinations of options. Remembering exact settings for exact results, simply isn't possible. I have sorely missed this feature in the last few releases.

Ironically I posted this request weeks ago in the G'MIC group on Flickr without a response. Tonight I posted it here and went to play with G'MIC some more, when I found the Output Messages setting. I set it to Verbose (layer name) and voila! The function was there the whole time! This site seems to inspire me to look in the right place!

Yeah, but it's not sticky. You have to remember to turn it on everytime.

It used to be sticky (or default).
