i got the error:
program couldnt be started because libwinpthread-1.dll is missing

Yeah; get the same error. Might try to find the dll later (gotta try to get 30 minutes of chill before I go back to work).

I did mention quite specifically that if you installed gimp from www.partha.com then you simply install gmic to the location I specified.

If you don't have my version of Gimp, then I don't know what DLLs you have. My version includes all DLLs necessary to simply drop in plugins compiled by me.

Make sure your installation of Gimp has at a minimum libwinpthread-1.dll, libfftw3-3.dll, libgcc_s_sjlj-1.dll, libstdc++-6.dll, libpng15-15.dll, zlib1.dll, curl.exe and libcurl-4.dll in your path.

im a user, not a programmer
i can put stuff in folders or doubleclick .exe files
if i get errors after that, its getting difficult

i dont know about the dll's you talk about
so maybe this is not for me

Yes. The included version was 1.5.5.1 I think. This one is the latest stable version.
