As you can see in the picture below, I have gmic in gimp..but it will not show up under filters...so I give up.

My question is, does anyone know of a good brush I guess for doing polka dots and snowflakes?

Thank you to everyone that has worked with me on this.

Micki

Don't give up. Leave it there where it is. I wouldn't take it out again cuz some good techie will come along and maybe they can help you. Don't worry, we have all been there. I have the same problem with Phython. It shows everything there but I am unable to use any of the scripts... they come up blank....

Folder desigination for your user looks wrong. it should be c:\Documents and Settings\Owner\.gimp-2.6\plug-ins and not with the _gmic subdirectory (using your paths). GIMP will find all the plugins in subdirectories. Your gmic plugin should be in plugins directory and there is an additional subdirectory _gmic as you have in your plugins directory. I think that is your problem. Edit the path as I mentioned, close GIMP and re-open it again and I bet it will work. Below are the files that should be in your user plugins directory. :)

OK Micki; just go to your plugin paths preset and click on your user path (I use Win7, so mine's different then yours). Then end of the path though is identical (\plug-ins part). See the screenshot below. :)
