I need to know this for a tutorial im following.
The default value for Gaussian Blur in 2.10 is 1,5, while in the old versions it was 0,5.

Does this mean all old values need to be multiplied by three ?

I tried to compare circles blurred in 2.8 versus 2.10, but im unable to get similar results, even when comparing in Difference Blendmode.

Hi Konstantin,

The old default value was 5, so it should roughly be a third now.
To achieve a similar result also try to set the layer in question to legacy.

There is no direct correlation between the versions and the Gimp 2.10 GEGL version does look very different for a similar density - the Gimp 2.8 has a greater spread.

It is possible to take the Gimp 2.8 plugin blur-gauss and use it in Gimp 2.10 The two versions do co-exist

Edit: I started a comparison last night but never finished ...;)

You might be able to interpolate values depending on the stated Gimp 2.8 value....
