Has anyone added Paint Studio to Gimp-2.8 yet?

ramon has not yet ported the presets to the new brush engine

Yes but adding the Studio should be pretty easy if you just want certain parts.
I normally do not like the setup of the dialogs but i do like all the brushes and presets. Not to mention the tool options and presets.

These can all be added manually within the userfolder\gimp-2.8 folder sub structures.

obviously brushes would work but no the presets, not sure if the other tool options are still compatible

But i believe will not take long for the new GPS (maybe the Libre Graphic meeting is a good place to announce a new version...)

Hallo I also can´t wait for now Version of Paint Studio. I wish that cam out fast.

where is no any advantage to use a "plain basic" version versus the portable but only possible disadvantages so i can't see the problem...you did not miss nothing using a portable version, nothing except possible troubles
