I just saw this article on the Gestalt process and found it interesting.

Interesting, I read somewhere once as well that when you view a picture (Especially westerners) will start in the bottom left corner and move to the top right, so you can create your picture to naturally lead them this way.

I'm 'a westerner' and I start at the top left, all of us do as far as I know.
