I found "GIMP" online when I was researching the best available free image-editing software. As GIMP was most often cited, I proceeded to download it only to be warned by my AVG that it contained a trojan and/or adware virus on each link I attempted to download from.
I found this thread when I went back online to find out if this was some sort of scam product.
Link Removed(had to list it like this, because I was told it looked too "spammy" for a new user)
It is TOTALLY clean and last tested in September of this year. It took FOREVER to download(almost 2 hours)! I am on Verizon MIFi, though, and my signal was weak at the time, so that may have been the only problem. Once it did download, there were no warnings or pop-ups of any kind.
I hope this helps anyone else having the same problems I did

| Please do not attempt circumvent our anti-spam measures. We recommend downloading GIMP from http://gimp.org. If users are seeing false positives from gimp.org, their anti-virus software is broken. |
