:) Hello everyone~! My name is Stormy and I am new to GIMP. I was very happy to find GIMPTRICKS and have been watching the videos. My husband and I want to take two photos of him walking down the railroad tracks and overimpose the close photo as almost transparent over a second photo of him a bit farther down the tracks. The effect we are looking for is as if the close photo is "ghostly" and the the further away photo will be solid.

Does anyone know which video I should watch? And what is this called? Transparency? Opacity?

Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for allowing me to join this community~!

Welcome to Gimp Chat.
Yes that would be an opacity setting on the closer view and (TOP) layer of himself.
