Hello! My name is Gloria and I am a *former* Photoshop user. I was little more than a novice anyway, but was working on becoming more skilled when a virus struck my computer, so I had to reload windows. It was then that I discovered I had LOST my Photoshop disc! :gaah When I stumbled upon Gimp several months ago I was shocked to discover that a free program could so closely resemble Photoshop and everything it can do! Although still a newbie, I'm madly in love with Gimp! I can't wait to see all of the cool things I can learn from you pros!

Welcome, Gloria! Hopefully we'll be able to learn from each other. Being an "newbie" should never stop anyone from expanding their knowledge, which will expand their horizons. Remember, we were all newbies, once. :seeya

I find that a great way to learn new stuffs in gimp is to go through the tutorial boards and start doing what looks easy then work your way up from there!

Welcome to our corner of the internet Gloria. Others already commented about going through some of the tuts. I would also add that there is so much talent here and willing to help, so if you have any questions, just ask. :)
