Howdy ya'll! My name is DarkWolf80s. I'm new to the GIMP Chat community and got referred here from Wallace. I am a self taught graphic designer and illustrator, you can check out some of my work on DA and Weasyl. I am from the Middle East, Kuwait to be exact.

Now that I got that out of the way, this is not my first time using GIMP but I have used it before since 2.2, 2.4, 2.6 and now 2.8. I have to say that the software has definitely came a long way and I can easily say that it is a hybird between Photoshop CS and CS2.

However, as with any software, GIMP happens to have a steep learning curve and not a friendly one at that but the results that it puts out is the exact quality that I would be getting from Photoshop.

I have some technical questions that I would like to ask about GIMP and I would like to talk to a GURU that knows the ins and outs of the program. My questions may seem silly but they will mostly consist in comparing with some of the functions that I am used to in Photoshop PS and why GIMP reacts to those same functions differently and if not it doesn't do the job but does something else.

Thanks ya'll! BTW, I have created a video tutorial recently for GIMP you're more than welcome to share it or add it to your tutorial category. I can't post the link due to the site has given me a warning as a new user and that I should not post off-site URLS. But if you want to check the tutorial, type my nickname on Youtube with the addition to GIMP and Wacom. Enjoy!

I'm guessing it's this one, GIMP Tutorial - How to Configure your Wacom Tablet and Install Themes?
I watched about half (it's 29 min.), the tablet info was great. You will be able to post to Video tutorials after 5 posts.

Use the Insert web video button and the YouTube link from the browser address bar (change https to http) and use the YouTube Embed width & height.
Your video example,
