Hi, I'm new to gimp and even to photo manipulation so, I have a lot to learn. Recently my brother provided a great many really old black and white family photos. I'm trying to learn to repair and enhance them. I've done a bit on the PhotoShop free trial, but, I don't think that what I want justifies their price. Can anyone offer suggestions on the best plug-ins and/or tutorials (for Windows 10) to get me started in the right direction?

I will appreciate any help that you can offer.

Welcome to GimpChat!

I have some instructions as I also had photos to fix. That is how I found GIMP!
Here are a few tutorials that were helpful to me. If you have a specific problem, bring it to the forum for help.

skuter: Welcome to Gimp Chat! Have you seen the tutorials section here? Some things have changed in Gimp 2.10 but most tutorials should be possible to follow anyway, and when something has changed you can always as other GC members. The tutorials index hasn't been updated in a while, but it's still a great place to start looking: Gimp Chat tutorial index

I've learned so much about photo editing on here and I'm sure you will too. Good luck!
