Hello peeps

I have been using Gimp for 10 years or so now, well since mickeysoft replaced win 7 with that god awful trash they replaced it with, that was the final straw that pushed me to Linux. Although I got a new pc a year ago which came with win11, and I am already this >< close to burning the install usb key and going back to linux before I end up in the funny farm with long wrap around sleeves and a nice rubber walled room.

I have not really used gimp in any great capacity, as a photographer I mostly used Darktable as that did everything I needed to do with photos and worked with Raw files, so mostly its been the occasional photo I needed to do more extensive editing than exposure and the odd spot removal here and there. However, I have now found myself in the Gimp rabbit hole proper due to my latest craze of creating content for Second Life in Blender and the need to make textures and seamless tiles etc.

In all my time with Gimp I have only ever installed G'Mic plugin, but during a particularly bored session after watching umpteen blender and gimp tutorials on the tube of you I decided to have a search to see if there was anything out there to give PS type layer effects which is pretty much the only fond memory I have of windows days, alas the only thing I could find does not work in Gimp3, but on the plus side it led me here :)

So now, I will be like a kid in a sweety shop tasting the lovely plugin flavours on offer chuckles

Sorry, yes, I was unclear that I found said plugins here. It was late, I was tired, the dog ate my homework, or insert other lame excuse here as required :)

Don’t be afraid to start over. It’s a new chance to rebuild what you want.
