To borrow a phrase - "Long time listener, first time caller"
I have browsed this site more than a few times especially when waiting forever and a day for the final 2.8 GIMP release, but just decided to finally register on here.
A few pointless details:
Fairly experienced user comfortable with the GIMP and decent with Photoshop CS6
> Started with the GIMP back in the 1.8 days if memory serves. My laptop has the latest or close to it at least version of the GIMP on both win7 and Ubuntu. My desktop has both GIMP and PS CS6 through the subscription program from Adobe.
I am more likely to use PS for more things these days especially with more complex multi-layered jobs like colorising b&w pictures but will fire up GIMP on the laptop in a heartbeat.

welcome to gimpchat,Cisco. Nice that you can use both PS and Gimp, now we can pick your brain on how to convert tutorials, lol.

I am fan of that show and Star Trek in general but in this case the source is the golden age of radio of which I am a huge fan. The Cisco Kid is my favourite (1950-53 era especially) juvenile western with The Lone Ranger a close second. Yes there were television shows for both of those but I have no interest in those.
I was glad to see the long overdue updates in 2.8; things like layer groups make a world of difference.
