Thank you. I didn't do much.
Do your text
Run Alpha to logo Bevel Reflect on it - use your emap of choice. I used a spherical topographical one.
3D Extrude (grow)
Merge the layers Bevel Reflect and extrude.
Duplicate the layers you just merged.
Solidify (found in GMIC) the bottom text layer (That is your background now.)
Stroke the top layer of text after you 'alpha' to select' the original text. I did a 4 pix stroke
