I was introduced to Gimp and I downloaded it to my home computer and I can say it's pretty cool, but i only know how to make basic bottle cap images. I really want to learn more about it and especially create unique and personalized bottle cap images like the one attached which i have no clue how to do. Can anyone please help me? :tyspin

2cute4u: hi and welcome to gimp chat! this is a really good place if you want to learn more about gimp, i've learnt so much since i joined up and just keep learning more.

about bottle cap images: do you want to make just the little round images you print out and stick on bottle caps, or do you want to make images that look like they are bottle caps? we have tutorials for doing both, i'll try to fish them out for you!

edit: hmm... i find broken links to the tutorial on making an actual bottle cap, and i don't find the thread i was thinking of on making images to glue on bottle caps. what you could do is make your own search on this site. go to the "advanced search" and search on keywords like "bottle cap" or "bottle cap images".

I can't remember where I got it from.
It's a PNG image.
All you really need to do is add your texture or whatever to the image

:tyspin all. In reply to the question of what type of bottle cap images I'm interested in learning more about; it's those 1" round images i can print/cut and glue on bottle caps covered with epoxy. I know how to make basic ones using the ellipse, scale, and move tools but i want to learn how to make ones like the images I attached. In the meantime I have taken the advise to use the advance search. Hoping to find very precise tutorial. Thanks for all your help. (oh and thanks for the template, I found that very useful).. :gimp :hi5

Here's a bottle-cap topper I made. Maybe this will help.
