Hi kelmcar. Welcome to Gimp Chat.
I think a good way to learn is to decide on something you would like to do and then watch a video tutorial on it and follow it step by step.
That for me was a 'fast track' way of getting to know some of what Gimp can do.
One thing we agree on here is that Gimp can do most of what we are trying to achieve. :gimp

Welcome! And yes, many of us are oldies but goodies, I surely am an oldie, but have not been a goodie (gimp-wise) for a while. I have been busy with gardens, work, and now trying to get a new website geared up for a chorus. At least I can look forward to some Gimping for the website, as I will have to make sure pictures and graphics are specific sizes.

kelmcar: welcome to gimp chat! the good news is we have plenty of "success stories" from the forum of people learning gimp comparatively late in life and quickly getting really good. the bad news is... hmm... there are no bad news, how sad. :hehe

Hi kelmcar, welcome to GC. I'm surprised AnMal didn't tell you that nobody is as old as me!
