Howdy humanformat. I guess you re-format quite regularly :)
Unfortunately Gimp is not a 3d application. Thats not to say images can't be made that look 3d but to go full 3d you need Blender or similar. The test is an image that can be rotated and viewed from every angle.
Gimp is way easier to use than Blender IMHO.
