Hi. Gary here. I live in Central NJ and am a retired ex-IBMer and a much longer ago ex-graphic artist. I live in a 55+ community and have been doing all the graphics in the 32-page community newsletter for the past 5 years, each year getting more advanced with GIMP. I don't even want to think about the newsletter without GIMP! We always get photos from other residents that really need a lot of work (why do people always have their subjects stand in front of the brightest window?).

Anyway, I joined the group to pick others' brains and to be of help to others, if I can.

Welcome aboard. I'm about 2 hours (south) away from you. Good to see others utilizing Gimp for their editing needs. Gimp is my go-to image editor as well.

Welcome Gary to Gimp Chat :)
I could use some help - How do you fix it when people stand in front of windows like that? :hehe
I have a couple of photo restoration groups and would love to know. There is only so much (that I know of) that you can do to get them right.

Don’t be afraid to start over. It’s a new chance to rebuild what you want.
