I have been using Gimp since sometime back in the Neolithic when it fulfilled most of my cave art needs. Back in the day this little art helper was known as Handicapable and he got that way from me rolling him around naked in red iron oxide and repeatedly bashing him on the rocks. With fine attention to dithering (stippling) with his bone frags, we accomplished a lot with only one bit color. I am very excited to try 16 and 32 bits of color in Gimp 3 and I'm sure he is glad I'm getting a little too old to throw him around so the whole mouse thing is a nice touch too. Sometimes human progress is measured in flashy tech or social progress, sometimes in not having to bludgeon your best bud just to draw a musk ox on the living room wall.
