My Name is Scott. I come from a good 25 year design background but have not done any design for about 7 years. I used Gimp back in the day as well as all of Adobe products. I don't do enough design to pay the insane subscription prices for Adobe products that I will never actually own. So here I am relying on Gimp for my needs. Gimp has come a LONG way since 1998. It has all the features that I need the most from a raster image editor. All the new AI stuff in Photoshop is nice I guess but not necessary.

I typed 'Welcome to Gimp Chat' into the major image search and this comes-up first. Funny thing is I did most of it with AviUtil on Windows. Gimp has never been able to do explosions.
