Hi All -

Thanks for all the contributions you collectively are making to photography and graphic work!
Since time is money and your gift of time and skill is genuinely appreciated!

About me....i really enjoy photography (mostly film of late) and a hybrid workflow (film-to-digi) is most of what i'm up to these days. This means i'm scanning negatives (35mm and medium format) and have alot to learn about these 2 huge areas of modern photography:
1) the art of scanning
2) the universe of post-processing (GIMP for me!!!!!!!!!!)

I am able to contribute to aspects of photography and some of the related gear, but am an utter n00b with items 1) and 2) above!

We have a lot of people here that that can probably help with Items 1) and 2), so just ask for help when you are ready.

Hi there and Welcome to Gimp Chat. Lots of expertise around here. Looking forward to some interesting posts from this topic of yours

I found that if I scan old negatives..the B&W kind..I use the highest resolution on my scanner and then invert the scan to get a clear picture..then reducing the size to what it should be normally...usually works for me...but some gurus here will probably go into cleaning the negative etc first...I'm interested to see what they all come up with.
