Hello everyone,

My name is Marc, I use Gimp in my photography workflow for many years now.
Together with other tools like UFRaw and Exiftool,
you can create a complete development environment for photography.
Gimp, although not perfect - but witch picture development tool is ?
can make a perfect alternative for Photoshop.
As every old school photographer knows ( i'am from '61 ), its not the equipment that makes you a good photographer,
it's the artist in you that does.
And Gimp is the perfect tool for an artist !

Hi Marc. Welcome to Gimp Chat. You are right - it is the artist. The main issues with photography are composition and light and shadow and most cameras are good enough for that but I was so happy to change my compact for an SLR because of the amount of control it gives me. Good equipment just makes life a little easier - it's not the biggest issue.
